Jason was stationed in Ba'qubah Iraq the Diyala Province were his unit patrols the streets in the near by city of Buhriz this is an insurgent strong hold for the enemy. The COP (Combat out Post) always received small arms fire and mortar fire every day. The COP is a building with no running water heat or AC the only thing that the soldiers had was food a cot to sleep on and a small out door grill for cooking. They were on duty 24 hrs a day seven days a week when they where on the font lines. Once every two or three weeks the soldiers may get to go back to the FOB (Forward Operating Base) Camp Warhorse Ba'qubah Iraq, where the soldiers would get a much needed but short R & R for a few days and a chance to call home to there loved ones, otherwise they where mostly in the battle field. Jason lost many of his brothers in arms and comrades to IED blast and small arms fire received daily when on patrol and missions.

Jason's update. Jason was injured on 4/13/07 in Ba'qubah Iraq when he was shot in the left arm when on foot patrol handing out candy and teddy bears to the local children when his unit was ambushed and Jason realized the medic was in trouble helping another wounded solider and risk his life to help his conrad's to safety. He was there defending our great nation and the people of Iraq. He did not ask to be there, but he did his job as a proud army solider to protect and serve and with honor The United States of America and all of her people of all religions and color. My son is my Hero!! He is currently back in the states stationed at Fort Hood Army Base Killeen TX, he is in the Gray Wolf Unit Team Bonecursher Bravo Co 1-12th Calvary Division. He will be under going his tenth surgery to replace the plates and pins in his left arm the bone has rejected. Jason had surgery on March 18th and he now has a rod and hinge system in place that he is less likely to reject. The surgery was a success, and he has transferred to a wounded warrior transition unit for rehab. He is also dealing with PTSD and TBI Jason still has a long road of recovery ahead of him. Jason has retired from the Army May 2009. He will return home to Atlanta Georgia to began his continue recovery process. See website www.battleforbaqubah.com
